When selecting light poles, it is essential to comprehensively consider the intended application, materials, height, lighting performance, and brand service.

1. Define the Application Scenario

Different regions have significantly different lighting requirements, which directly influence the choice of light pole type:

Urban Main Roads:

Characterized by heavy traffic flow, these areas require high-brightness, wide-coverage LED light poles. Typically standing 10–15 meters tall, these poles should ideally be powered by the municipal grid to ensure stability.

Rural Roads / New Rural Development Areas:

In regions with underdeveloped power infrastructure, solar-powered light poles are recommended. These offer off-grid power capabilities, are easy to install, and help reduce wiring costs.

Public Squares, Parks, and Residential Communities:

The focus here is on balancing aesthetics with energy efficiency. Uniquely styled garden lights or landscape light poles-of moderate height-are suitable choices, ensuring that the lighting complements and harmonizes with the surrounding urban landscape.

Highways, Bridges, and Tunnels:

These environments demand high-strength structural support. It is recommended to utilize high-mast lighting poles manufactured from Q235B steel, which offer excellent resistance to wind pressure and corrosion, thereby ensuring safe, long-term operation.

2. Prioritize Materials and Anti-Corrosion Treatments

The material of a light pole directly determines its service life and its ability to withstand environmental stressors:

Steel is the most common material; it offers high strength and low cost, though it requires proper anti-corrosion treatment. A "hot-dip galvanizing + electrostatic powder coating" dual-protection process is highly recommended. With a zinc layer thickness of ≥85μm and a coating thickness of ≥120μm, this method effectively resists corrosion caused by de-icing salts used during winter in northern regions.

Aluminum Alloy is another excellent option, offering light weight and superior corrosion resistance. It is particularly suitable for coastal or high-humidity regions, though its higher cost means it is more frequently utilized in high-end municipal projects.

For specific scenic or landscape areas, stainless steel-known for its exceptional weather resistance-may be selected. However, due to its high cost, it is less widely adopted.

3. Choose Reputable Brands and Comprehensive Service Systems

Opt for brands that possess integrated capabilities spanning design, manufacturing, and installation, as they can provide comprehensive service support throughout the entire product lifecycle.
