How To Check Chimney Structure Before Production

Before chimney production starts, the drawing should be checked from several practical points. The first point is size. Height, diameter, section length, flange position, platform height, and manhole location should match the site layout and equipment outlet. If the outlet direction is wrong, the chimney may need extra elbows or field changes, which can slow down installation.

The second point is working condition. Gas temperature, moisture, acid content, dust level, and pressure should be confirmed because these details affect steel grade, lining, insulation thickness, and drainage design. A chimney that handles wet gas needs condensate drainage and inner protection. A chimney that handles hot gas may need expansion control and surface temperature control. The third point is installation. Section marks, lifting points, bolt sets, and packing lists should be clear before shipment. For tall stacks, anchor bolt matching and foundation elevation should be checked early. These steps are not complicated, but they can reduce rework, waiting time, and wrong assembly on site.

This kind of early check is useful because it turns a vague product request into a clear production plan. It also helps the supplier confirm drawings, packing marks, material records, and inspection points before the order moves into fabrication.
