The cooling tower dissipates the excess heat in the system through a complex heat exchange process to ensure the stable and efficient operation of various facilities. The basic working principle of cooling tower is as follows:

Water evaporation cooling: hot water is evenly sprayed from the top or side of the tower to the packing layer. The packing is usually made of special plastic sheets, corrugated plates or ceramic materials, which increases the surface area of ​​​​the water. The outside air passes through the packing layer under the action of fan suction or natural ventilation. When water is fully in contact with air, water molecules continue to vaporize and escape into the air. The vaporization process absorbs a lot of heat, which reduces the water temperature.
‌Heat transfer‌: The cooled water falls to the water collection pool at the bottom of the tower, and then is transported back to the equipment to be cooled by the circulating pump, such as the condenser of the power plant, the main unit of the central air conditioner, etc. In this way, the cooling tower completes the process of heat transfer and ensures that the equipment operates under low temperature conditions.
