Function of factory chimneys

Feb 01, 2025 Leave a message

The main function of factory chimneys is cooling towers, not exhausting flue gas. In thermal power plants, chimneys are actually cooling towers, also known as "hyperbolic cooling towers". The core function of cooling towers is to cool down the machines inside the factory. Specifically, the cooling tower introduces external air into the machine through the exhaust pipe, and uses the cold air to exchange heat with the high-temperature gas to reduce the temperature of the machine. When the cold air meets the high-temperature gas, the liquid water turns into gas, releasing heat and taking away the heat of the machine to achieve a cooling effect.

In addition, cooling towers can also realize the recycling of water resources. During the cooling process, the water is sprayed into steam and floats out from the top of the pipe, forming the white gas we are familiar with. The remaining water is cooled again and recycled.
