Electric transmission tower is the steel frame used to carry conductors, ground wires, and insulator strings over long distances. It keeps the line at a safe height and transfers load from wire weight, wind, ice, and tension into the foundation.

The tower is usually designed after route survey and line calculation. Height, arm length, tower head shape, bolt grade, and foundation type all affect the final drawing. For coastal or wet areas, hot-dip galvanizing with extra coating can be selected after the corrosion level is checked.
