1. What are the temperature limitations of a Fiberglass Chimney?
FRP chimneys are designed for cool, saturated gas streams. The typical maximum continuous operating temperature is around 200°F (93°C), although some specialized resin systems can handle slightly higher temperatures. They are not suitable for high-temperature applications like boiler or diesel generator exhaust without an appropriate upstream cooling system.
2. What industries are the primary users of FRP chimneys?
Their corrosion resistance makes them ideal for the chemical processing, pulp and paper, power generation (downstream of wet scrubbers), and municipal wastewater and odor control industries. Essentially, any process that produces a cool, wet, and acidic gas stream is a perfect application.

FRP chimneys can be designed as freestanding, guy-wired, or building-supported structures. Because they are so lightweight, the support systems required are generally smaller and more economical than those needed for a steel chimney of the same size.
